James Scott- Seeing Like A State

Here is the link to the lectures about "Seeing Like A State" Introduction and chapters 1 and 5. We are trying to discuss what the state is, and most importantly, how it relates to actions and everyday life. What we are beginning to see is that the state is impossible precisely because of the elimination of difference and its consequent removal from the plane of everyday life.
